Meet The Team
Igor Segal P.E.
CEO
Igor has 25 years of experience in biotechnology including 9 years in the cell therapy industry. 
For las 3 years Igor was leading InstilBio team as a VP, Head of Engineering, Facilities and Validation, Prior to that he served as GMP Engineering/Facilities consultant to Allogene Therapeutic facilitating design and construction of the commercial plant as well as corporate office and research facilities. 
From 2014 to 2018 Igor led the Engineering and Facilities department at Kite. During this time, he managed the design and construction of the first in the world T-Cell commercial manufacturing Facilities in El Segundo, and the supporting offices and warehouse facilities totaling over 100,000 SF. His projects also included remodeling of the groundbreaking 160,000 SF Clinical manufacturing site in Santa Monica and the design and Construction of 150,000 SF corporate office space. Igor established operations and managed Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities and EH&S functions of Kite organizations. 
Prior to these roles in cell therapy biotech, Igor held roles of increased responsibilities in Engineering, Maintenance and Validation at Agensys, Baxter and Alpha Therapeutic.
Igor holds a BS in electrical Engineering and MS degree in Automation and Controls from Leningrad Institute of Technology. He is a Professional Electrical Engineer and DMAIC Green Belt.
Nima Payan
COO
Nima Payan is a highly accomplished expert in Biotech Facilities Engineering and Capital Projects. He has a strong educational background, including a Master's Degree in Architecture Design, a Graduate Certificate in Building Science, and a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Design from the University of Southern California. In his career, Nima focuses on maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring safety, and finding innovative solutions. He has experience in managing critical systems, overseeing portfolios, designing cGMP facilities, and negotiating contracts. His expertise has been instrumental in overseeing significant projects in the biopharmaceutical industry, such as clinical and commercial manufacturing plants, office buildings, and laboratories. Nima's commitment to quality work, safety protocols, and creative problem-solving consistently drives progress in the biotech sector. His extensive experience in capital project management, facility design, and compliance makes him an invaluable asset in this complex field.
